I received an email yesterday from an editor from a greeting card company who found me on my So You Want To Write blog. She asked me if I would be interested in writing greeting cards. It's not something I had given any thought to before, but it sounded intriguing so I asked her for a bit more information.
She emailed me back today, attaching the submission guidelines and giving me a bit more details about what is expected. She also told me to use her direct email so that I could bypass the website's submission process, which I have to admit tickled me a bit. What has my jaw still hitting the floor, though, is the fact that they pay $300 for every submission that is published. Who knew people could make that much from a greeting card? Wow!
It's certainly worth giving a try. What's the worst that can happen? I won't have any of my submissions accepted? In which case I won't be any worse off than I was before. I think it'll be fun! :-D
