You Wanted to Know!!!

This was a question someone had asked me, so I thought I'd answer it here... just in case anyone else was wondering the same thing.

The person wanted to know how I manage to find time to read with all the writing I do...

Well it's simple... I don't write that many hours a day that I can't find time to do anything else. I spend on average 4 to 6 hours writing on any given day. I know a lot of other writers push themselves to write so much per day or so many hours per day, but honestly I've found that putting that kind of pressure on myself only makes it more difficult for me. I actually have more problems with writer's block that way.

So I pace myself... I write when I'm feeling up to writing... when I'm feeling inspired. And when I'm not writing (or taking care of my daughter) I read. No matter what career you choose in life, you generally always try to learn more to increase your skills, right? So that's what I do... I read... because reading is the best way I can increase my writing skills.

I live by the philosophy: If you want to write a great book, you've got to read a LOT of great books!
