Tinkerbell’s Adventures

by Naya Lionsong

One night, a long time ago, Peter Pan and I were visiting the windows of children so that we could hear their stories, as we often did. I’ll never forget that night because it’s the night we met the Darling children, Wendy, John and Michael.

Wendy was reading her brothers a story when Peter’s shadow took off. Peter chased it through the window, and I followed him in. The children were a bit startled at first, but then they became curious.

“Who are you?” Wendy asked as she approached us.

“I’m Peter Pan!” Peter replied.

“And I’m Tinkerbell,” I added.

“I’m Wendy, and these are my brothers, John and Michael.”

“I’m sorry I ruined your story, but my shadow got away and flew through your
window,” Peter explained. “Will you help me get it back?”

“Sure!” the children said in unison.

We spotted Peter’s shadow in the back of the room, so we cornered it. It tried to get away, but the children’s dog, Nana, grabbed it in her jaws. Wendy took the shadow from Nana. Then she grabbed her needle and thread and sewed Peter’s shadow back on.

“Thanks for reuniting me with my shadow. Why don’t you come with us to Neverland?”

“What’s Neverland?” asked John.

“That’s where I’m from. Tink, sprinkle them with fairy dust so they can fly.”

I flew over to the children and sprinkled each of them with fairy dust. They giggled as they floated into the air.

“Follow me!” Peter exclaimed as he flew out the window.

I flew out behind Peter, and the other children followed me.

“Wait for me!” cried little Michael.

I flew back to Michael and grabbed his little finger to help pull him along.

As we neared the island, a great blast shook the Neverland sky.

“It’s the pirates led by Hook!” cried Peter.

“They’re shooting at us!” I screamed.

“Who’s Hook?” asked John.

“He is the captain of the pirates!” shouted Peter. “He hates me because I cut off his hand and fed it to a crocodile. Now he wears an iron hook where his hand used to be.”

Just then the winds rose and split us up. Peter and I were carried one way, while John, Michael and Wendy went another.

“Go after them, Tinkerbell!” Peter shouted.

As fast as I could, I flew in the direction the wind took Wendy and the boys. I found them flying near the home of the Lost Boys. Soon after found the children, Peter joined us.

Days and nights passed. Wendy and the boys were playing on the rocks in Mermaids’ Lagoon. I was flying close by when we saw Tiger Lily, an Indian princess, being kidnapped by the pirates. Peter rushed to rescue her.

Captain Hook tried to capture Peter too, but when the crocodile suddenly appeared, Captain Hook ran away. Hook was too afraid of the crocodile to chase after Peter and Tiger Lily.

That night, the Indians had a dance to celebrate Tiger Lily’s rescue. Wendy went home early to watch over the boys, and I decided to go with her. As the boys slept, Wendy baked a cake for Peter and left a note telling him to have a piece when he got home.

Suddenly Captain Hook and the pirates burst into the room, capturing Wendy and the boys. I hid in the corner so they wouldn’t see me. Hook poured some poison over the cake Wendy left for Peter. Then the pirates took their prisoners back to the ship.

Luckily I saw what Hook did to the cake. When Peter came home, he went over to the cake. I darted out of the corner toward the cake and knocked it off the table.

“What did you do that for?” Peter asked.

“Captain Hook poured poison on it. He’s got Wendy and the boys,” I replied.

I followed Peter as he crept aboard the ship and hid in the cabin below. He began making strange sounds, and I joined in. He knew that cowardly Hook would send his prisoners to investigate.

Once the boys were in the cabin, Peter gathered them together to fight against the evil pirates. Peter fought with Hook while the boys and I attacked the other pirates. Just then Hook fell overboard right into the jaws of the crocodile. Everyone cheered!

Wendy decided that it was time for her and her brothers to return home. I sprinkled them with fairy dust, and we took off into the sky. As we approached their house, they flew through the bedroom window.

“Good-bye!” the children called from their window.

“Good-bye!” we replied as we flew toward Neverland.

The End
