I haven't quite finished Shadow Stalker yet... there are a couple of areas I'm sorta stuck on. Just not sure what I want to do with it yet because I'm trying to take into consideration where I want these things to go in future parts of the series. So while I'm working that out, I've decided to start the editing process. I figured that maybe I'll have something come to me in the meantime and it's better than sitting on it and doing nothing at all, right?
Okay... I'm so excited right now I'm bouncing in my seat... I want to start working on it now, but there are a few other things I need to do first, but I'll be getting started on the editing today. :-D
I'll be trying to keep you all posted as much as possible in the meantime!

Spring Cleaning
It's that time of year downunder and I've started my spring cleaning. Boy does this place need it. It's kinda scary how dirty windows can get in just six months time. So I'm taking the week off from writing to get it all done, since I'm doing some reorganizing too. Then we'll be having a garage sale to get rid of all the stuff we don't need anymore.
I know, I know... I didn't meet my end of August goal with Shadow Stalker, but I've gotten a lot of work done on it, so that has to count for something. The main part now is getting the final battle written, and I'll need help from my husband with that (since I really suck at writing battles). Other than that, it's pretty much done... just a couple other chapters that need work due to changes I've made to other parts so that it's not contradictory.
I should be starting the editing next month. I'm really excited about that. I'm still aiming for a late 2010/early 2011 release.

Getting There
Sorry I haven't been keeping up with things here. I've been so busy with writing (on more than one project) that I haven't really made much time for keeping up with my blog here. I suppose that's a good thing in a way, but I don't like keeping my readers in the dark.
So before I get back to working on Shadow Stalker, I just wanted to let you know that I'm getting there. I'm on track for finishing the first draft by the end of August. Then I plan to take a month to work on another project while giving my brain a bit of a break. Then I'll start the editing process.
I bought a book called Self-Editing for Fiction Writers by Renni Browne and Dave King. Renni Browne was once the senior editor for William Morrow and founded The Editorial Department. David King is a contributing editor at Writer's Digest (or was at the time of the writing of this book). After having a look through it, I can see it's going to be an awesome guide and I've heard great things about it from people who have already used it. So I'm pretty anxious about using it for the first time.
I expect it's going to take at least a few months to do the editing, but I'm getting there.
